who shape the visual environment of the action-sports scene (including Ed

The Sound and the Fury, an amateur skateboarding event
held in the Pacific Northwest, has been staged annually since 1997. This
three-day event attracts thousands of skateboard enthusiasts and music
fans from throughout the entire region. The fourth annual Sound and the
Fury is scheduled to take place on April 27 through April 29, 2001 at the
retired Sand Point Naval Station at Magnuson Park in Seattle, Washington.
This event focuses on competitive skateboarding with an equal emphasis on
music featuring over fifteen of the hottest regional and national acts
like CKY, Odd Numbers, Clay Wheels, Zeke, Peanut Butter Wolf. An extra day
of competition has been added on Friday, April 27, in order to accommodate
over 320 entrants. They have also added an extra day of music and expanded
professional skate demos to provide an entire weekend of entertainment for
the thousands of spectators and skateboarders attending this event. The
contest will feature both factory and shop sponsored divisions, as well as
unsponsored and women’s categories, with staged professional skate
demonstrations and bands between heats.
